The 2023 DNAA County Longbow Championships didn’t quite go according to plan. The forecast was for a moderate breeze which on the ground proved to be just too much for the safety of the competitors so the shoot was abandoned after 1 ½ dozen arrows. If it hadn’t been for the wind, it would otherwise have been a nice day, which meant besides the shooting everyone there had an enjoyable day. Thanks to the generosity of Riverside members the raffle became the highlight of the day, and thanks to the generosity of the competitors a sizable amount was raised for a junior lady who is raising funds for a world challenge trip to Malaysia; whilst she is there, she will be volunteering at a marine conservation project to protect the critically endangered hawksbill turtles.
The Tournament Organiser would like to express his thanks to everyone who helped make the day happen. 🏹
