The only guarantee with clout at Kendal is challenging weather, so unpredictable winds throughout the weekend – with rain arriving on day two – was perhaps not unexpected!
Archers from Killingworth, Riverside, Whitburn and Green Lane braved the elements for the two-day competition.
DNAA results
DNAA winners and medalists across the weekend, all from Green Lane Archers, were:
- Jane Reith – 2nd Lady Recurve
- Desmond Chan – 50+ Recurve winner
- Rachel Chan – Junior Ladies Barebow winner, Best Ladies Junior Clout and two National Records!
- Elaine Jobson – 2nd Lady Barebow
- Diane Jobson – 1st Lady Longbow, improving both of her county records (subject to ratification) and achieving Grand Master Bowman status!
A huge congratulations to everyone who competed and represented DNAA, with some fantastic performances despite everything the Kendal weather could throw at them.
Sadly, there was no group photo at the end of the competition – a downpour meant our very soggy archers were understandably keen to head home!
Next up: two days of pre-Nationals practice at York Archers.
Thank you to Elaine Jobson for the write-up and for keeping us updated from Kendal.
