DNAA archers enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the National Clout & Tassel Championships on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026. Although the weather thankfully stayed dry, competitors faced cold and windy conditions throughout the weekend. National Records and Tassels
The celebrations didn’t stop with the medals and championship titles! We also know that DNAA archers achieved national records and claimed tassels over the course of the weekend, making it an even more memorable occasion for our county’s clout archers.
A Special Mention for Aycliffe Archers
We’d like to give a particularly enthusiastic shout-out to Aycliffe Archers, who have really embraced clout shooting this year. The club brought an impressive squad of seven archers to the championships, demonstrating just how much enthusiasm for the discipline is growing within their club.
It was especially pleasing to see Aycliffe archers picking up medals on Sunday. We hope this is just the beginning of many more clout adventures, and we look forward to seeing plenty of familiar Aycliffe faces on the shooting line throughout 2027!
Well Done, Everyone!
Congratulations to everyone who competed, supported their fellow archers and represented DNAA over the weekend. It’s fantastic to see such strong participation across the county, with established clout archers and enthusiastic newcomers alike enjoying the discipline.
Of course, getting everyone together for a group photograph proved to be something of a challenge! Herding that many archers into one place is almost a competition in itself, but we certainly gave it our best shot!
Finally, a big thank you to Elaine from Green Lane Archers for sharing the weekend’s news and results, and helping us celebrate the achievements of our county’s archers.
Well done to everyone involved, and here’s to even more clout success in 2027!
