We probably don’t say this often enough, so we’re going to say it properly.
A huge thank you to all of our judges across DNAA, and to those who travel in from further afield, for the enormous amount of time you give to the sport.
What we see on competition day is only part of it – the early starts, long days, equipment checks, questions, decisions, and standing out in whatever weather gets thrown at you while the rest of us can at least disappear into a tent between ends.
There’s also everything that happens away from competitions: supporting clubs and organisers, answering questions, mentoring newer judges, keeping up with rules and qualifications, and helping to keep competitive archery running.
And all of that is voluntary, fitted around jobs, families, friends and completely normal non-archery lives.
Without judges giving up that time, competitions simply don’t happen.
So, from all of us at DNAA: thank you.
We really do appreciate everything you do – probably more than we remember to say.
So next time you see one of our judges, go and say thank you.
