If you’re looking for something a little different this summer, entries are now open for the Kirknewton Archers Metric Clout Competition.
Clout remains one of archery’s most unique disciplines, challenging archers to shoot at long distances towards a flag on the ground rather than a conventional target face. Whether you’re an experienced clout archer chasing Tassel awards or simply looking to try something new, this event offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved.
The competition welcomes archers from across the region and includes award categories for all major bowstyles, along with junior awards and a Best Clout award. Archers aged 50 and over will also have the opportunity to claim the new 50+ Tassel Awards by shooting the appropriate qualifying distances.
As one of several clout events taking place across the region during the outdoor season, the competition provides an opportunity for archers to experience a discipline that differs significantly from conventional target archery while working towards Tassel Scheme awards.
Sighters begin at 10:00am, entry is £7 per person, and places are limited. Entries close on 20 July 2026.
Whether you’re aiming for a Tassel badge, hoping to claim one of the new 50+ Tassel Awards, or simply looking to broaden your archery experience, Kirknewton’s Metric Clout Competition is well worth adding to your calendar.
Full details and entry information can be found in the prospectus and entry form.
