Longbow Champs 2023

The 2023 DNAA County Longbow Championships didn’t quite go according to plan. The forecast was for a moderate breeze which on the ground proved to be just too much for the safety of the competitors so the shoot was abandoned after 1 ½ dozen arrows. If it hadn’t been for the wind, it would otherwise have been a nice day, which meant besides the shooting everyone there had an enjoyable day. Thanks to the generosity of Riverside members the raffle became the highlight of the day, and thanks to the generosity of the competitors a sizable amount was raised for a junior lady who is raising funds for a world challenge trip to Malaysia; whilst she is there, she will be volunteering at a marine conservation project to protect the critically endangered hawksbill turtles.
The Tournament Organiser would like to express his thanks to everyone who helped make the day happen. 🏹

David Harrison Memorial Shoot – cancelled

It is with regret and great disappointment that the Bowmen of Walker must announce the cancellation of the David Harrison Memorial Shoot scheduled for the 20 August 2023. This has been the result of major ground works which are currently underway and cover a substantial part of the range very close to the 90m line. Unfortunately the club was not informed prior to the work commencing despite the field booking being made well in advance. We have also been informed that the work is likely to continue until September thus limiting the clubs normal activities.
