From the tournament organiser:
I regret to inform you that the Cleadon committee has decided that the Jimmy Melvin Memorial Tournament 2019 has had to be cancelled.
This is due to the contractor changing their original start date for work on our outdoor range to a new proposed date of the 24th June 2019 and that the contractor is also unable to supply us with a definite date for completion.
Thank you for your interest in this unique and popular longbow event and let us hope we can have it up and running again next year.
For those who have entered, I will return your cheque and entry form in the post. Alan

It is with great sadness that we have received news of the passing of Sue Giles after a short illness
Sue started her archery at Ponteland before moving to Walker then to be nearer home she joined Morpeth.
Sue loved Archery and she was a much loved member of the clubs and shoots she attended
Sue represented the county on many occasions and was always smiling and it was often said she had a heart of gold.
She will be very much missed. Our sympathies to her family and friends.
RIP Sue.
