I’m pleased to announce an open coach session for senior club archers. This will be held at Riverside Archery Club, Thorp Academy Ryton, NE40 3AH on April 6, doors open at 9:00 for range and kit setup so we can start at 10:00 prompt. There will be several coaches on hand to give help and advice on aspects of your archery technique and equipment, all bow styles catered for.
This is provided F.O.C. by the County. As places will be limited, please book in to reserve a place, DNAACoaching@gmail.com, indicating your bow style, experience and goal for the session.
Light refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
Killingworth Archers are running a 6 week beginners course, starting Wednesday 13 February, and have a few places still available. If anyone is interested, details can be found on the Killingworth Archers web site.
This year once again, Archery GB is running a postal shoot for individual archers. You should simply submit your best score for a Portsmouth round that
you have shot in January.
This is actually the sixteenth time the Challenge is being run. We started it in 2004 as something that every club member could take part in, and we have
steadily increased the number of entrants from a start of around 200 – until, a couple of years ago, we suddenly leapt up to over 1,000. But there are still
plenty of archers out there. Juniors can enter but will be counted alongside adults (often they do, and, of course, beat them); if provided, their age will be
shown in the results. AFB should be included in “Recurve Barebows” but will be marked as AFB if we are told.
A small trophy will be awarded to each section winner.
The Round
Portsmouth (Archers may use either full or 3-spot faces, but will be counted together)

Great news from France. Cameron Donaldson has battled his way through to the bronze medal match at the World Archery indoor being held at Neimes, France. Cameron has beaten several of the top juniors in the world to be in with a chance if bronze.
Let’s all get behind him for his match tomorrow.
