Many will already be aware, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allison Wright (nee Kelly). Allison passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Saturday 10th February following a courageous three-year battle with mesothelioma. Allison was an extremely accomplished barebow archer, representing GB at the World Archery 3D championships in 2019 and a multiple times NFAS national champion. She holds all but one of the County’s indoor records and field records.
She had an infectious enthusiasm for the sport and was always generous with her help, especially to young up and coming archers, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In the County and beyond, Allison will be remembered as an incredible archer, a great friend and a truly inspirational woman.

It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you of the passing of Chris Gill on 3rd February. Chris and his father Richard helped found Cramlington Archers – the straw boss was donated by him and allowed us to run our early beginners courses. I knew Chris from his earliest days as a young lad as he rose to be one of the best young archers in the county and he could still beat any of us in his all too infrequent visits to the club over the years. A genuinely nice person, he will be missed by all who knew him, but especially his mother, Susan, his wife and children. I am sure our thoughts are with them at this tragic time.
