Half a dozen longbow gentlemen and ladies of DNAA, travelled to Kendal Bowmen on Sunday 19th to shoot a Western round. Congratulations to Chris and Helen on their place and highest number of hits. And to Trevor and Paul for their win and highest number of hits. The archers recieved a warm friendly welcome from the host club and the companionship of longbow archers from across the region.

On 4th and 11th March 21 archers, mostly coaches, undertook an Emergency First Aid course organised by our County Coach Organiser.
When the rules and safety measures are followed archery is a very safe sport but you can never tell when someone needs emergency assistance. Some of the skills practiced were CPR, cuts, breaks, shock and choking. It is important that clubs have people trained to respond quickly in an emergency situation so thank you to all who are willing to take on the role of First aider.

Congratulations to all who took part, and huge thanks to hosts Whitburn Archers

The first County Novice Indoor Championships since lockdown took place on Saturday 4th March at Harton Academy Sports Centre, hosted by Whitburn Archers.
55 archers of all ages came together, with many taking part in their very first competition. Although it was a relaxed and friendly shoot judges were there to explain the technicalities of competitions and help answer questions and give guidance on procedures.
There was a great atmosphere and the event ran very smoothly, thanks to the work of Whitburn archers in making sure all needs were catered for. We were all very well looked after.
County medals were awarded across the 4 bow styles of Recurve, Compound Barebow and Longbow.
We now have our 2023 Indoor Novice Champions and hope that the experience will have given them a taste for competition. We look forward to seeing you again at future events.
Congratulations to all who took part!
