In the county and beyond, it starts to sink in that we have sadly lost a man whose significant contribution to archery impacted so many people so positively – as Chairman, Judge, Coach and Friend.
Dave’s family have shared a Memory Page so that stories, memories and photos can be gathered in one place and everyone is encouraged to contribute. If you can, please help make this a page that reflects Dave’s incredible life.
Dave’s favourite charities are shared on the page for those who would like to make a donation in his memory.
The site also contains details of a celebration of Dave’s life taking place on 2nd February. A live stream link will be added shortly for those who cannot attend in person.

Sadly, due to several of the coaching team displaying covid symptoms we’re having to cancel Sunday’s junior coaching session. Would you be so kind to pass this news to any of your juniors that might have planned to come, we still plan to have the session in March so will keep you posted about that one.
Kindest regards
Ian Norwood

Entry form here
From the organisers:
Good morning archers
We trust you are all well.
Please find attached the entry form for our Frostbite shoot to be held on Monday 27th December. Our apologies for the short notice, however we have waiting for confirmation from the school that we are able get access to run the Frostbite this year, which we only received late this week.
All the information regarding the shoot is on the entry form, however in light of recent information regarding Covid regulations we urge you to be cautious and wear a face covering when in indoor places, which are crowded and enclosed, and where they may come into contact with people they do not normally meet.
We appreciate that there is not a lot of time before entries close and as entries are limited, we request that if you wish to shoot you return entries as soon as possible. Due to the proximity of Christmas entries cannot be accepted after the closing date.
We look forward to seeing you there
Kindest regards
Ian & Ann
Following notification of the AGM to be held on 7 October, unfortunately the venue has double booked and as we are not a school event, we have had to move the venue. The AGM will now be held at Thorpe Academy, Main Rd, Ryton NE40 3AH. We have only been able to secure the venue from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm so we will need to try and have a prompt start and get through the AGM as quickly as possible so we can hold the short meeting afterwards.
We have received a few e-mails regarding fees. For information fees can be found in Appendix A of the constitution. An amended version, for approval at the AGM on Thursday 7 October was sent to all club secretaries (the e-mail address registered with DNAA) on 5 September 2021 at 5:52 pm contains the information requested. As we have not held an AGM where the fees have changed, they remain the same:Appendix “A”
A.1. D.N.A.A. fees with effect from: 01.10.17.
A.1.1. HONORARY: £ Nil
A.1.2. DIRECT: £3.50
A.1.3. ASSOCIATE: £3.50
A.1.4. JUNIOR: no charge
A.1.5. UNIVERSITY CLUBS: £30.00/club
A.1.6. JUNIOR & SCHOOL CLUBS: no charge.
Covid 19 has brought some unprecedented and trying times to all of us. We would like to congratulate clubs who have managed to eventually open, even if the majority of the membership are only just returning now lockdown has been lifted. We must all be aware of our membership’s mindfulness and be mindful that some of our members may have decided to continue to self isolate (for their own reasons) and the use of the track and trace app may require compulsory self isolation; some of our members are working in areas of high risk and are therefore thinking of others by not returning to the range to avoid contact.
It has been a trying time for all of our volunteering community and those in committee roles in one form or another (including ourselves) who endeavour to pass information on as speedily as possible and deal with criticism from those who don’t agree with the rules or decisions made on the behalf of the whole membership.
Committee meetings were banned due to the government lockdown rules but we are pleased to announce that these meetings will recommence on 7 October 2021.
The DNAA Executive Committee have tried their best over the last 18 months to keep you up to date and filter information through to you, but unfortunately as always “we cannot please all of our members all of the time”.
The DNAA Social Media posts in connection with the 5 Counties shoot seem to be providing a number of opinions. It is unfortunate that once again the Committee are facing backlash on decisions that have been made recently – we are trying to accommodate all of your requests but please remember these volunteers are valued volunteers but still receive a lot of criticism for their decisions.
All of the DNAA Committee Positions, just like club positions are open at each AGM, it is up to the incumbent should they wish to stand the following year and those who wish to take the role to put their names forward. Some of our committee members are in their current positions as no one has stepped forward to carry out the role, they may welcome a nomination for their post.
The next AGM will be on THURSDAY 7 October 2021 at Park View School, North Lodge, Lombard Drive, Chester-le-Street, DH3 4BB commencing at 6.30 pm prompt and we would welcome volunteers for the following roles:
President
Chairman
Honorary Secretary
Honorary Treasurer
Honorary Records Officer
Honorary Coaching Organiser (must be a qualified coach)
Webmaster
Junior Team Manager
Senior Team Manager
Welfare Officer
Deputy Welfare Officer- there is no present post holder
Single Point of Contact (must be a qualified judge)
Membership Secretary
A copy of brief details of roles and duties can be provided on request and of course our current incumbents would be more than willing to discuss the roles they hold with any interested parties. Please e-mail secretary.dnaa@gmail.com
We hope to see as many of you as possible at the AGM.
Regards
The DNAA Executive
